Basically there are ten types of web applications.

4. B2C E-Commerce Site: B2C stands for business to customer. The prime purpose of these sites is to facilitate online transaction and sales. These sites offer customer support too. With the help of these websites on can track an order and or communicate with the department concerned with customer care.

5. B2B Extranet Sites: B2B stands for business to business. This website facilitates the business of partners who want carry out business transactions among themselves. The website could be used for supply chain management, real-time inventory, product information, and access to exclusive pricing. The main purpose of this type of website is to facilitate the interactions between the business partners.
6. Training and Education Sites: The web application is for accesses to the study material that is online and to be downloaded. The candidates can be accessed on line. The internet is now being used mainly as source of information. This sites try it imitate the real classroom. The facilities in this virtual classroom can vary.
7. News Sites: These types of sites try to follow the newspaper or the radio that cater to the local market and issues.
8. Intranet Sites: This web application allows the communication and the transactions within the organization. The basic aim of the Intranet Sites is to improve the communication among the employees and increase their productivity.
9. Entertainment Sites: This web application is meant for the entertainment of the visitor.
10. Portal Sites: This web application facilitates the entry to the world of web.
