Print Design
Print design is about print and design of the layout. It is two dimensions. Special attention is paid to the layout. A professional print designer may be a printer as well or outsourcing the printing work to some other professional printer.
Print design includes the services and/ or designing of Catalogs, Direct mail, Business cards, Presentations, Annual reports, Sell sheets and price pages, Logo design & corporate identity packages, Packaging, Flyers, Stationery, Print advertising campaigns, Brochures, Poster Design, Newsletter Design and Print design consulting.
Navigation: In a print design the navigation is very simple and it is possible for the reader to turn the pages. Turning of the pages is so common that it is at times not even thought of as an element of print design. There is hardly any Interplay between the varied spreads. For a fixed sized canvas there is a creation of individual view which is a design unit. A big canvas is used while designing posters or newspapers.
Visualization: One of the most important factors to be taken into consideration during the process of print design is the visualization. If the visualization is having a very high impact on the reader than the print design is a success. The Print design is on the basis of allowing the eyes to skim over the information. Important objects of information have to be highlighted.
Price: The price of the print design depends on the cost of print and the number of hours devoted for creating the artistic design. It also depends on the quantity. More the quantity less is the price per print. It is universal law in business that if any product is produced in large quantity the unit cost of production is going to be brought down.
Process: The process of Print Design is simple and not at all complicated. Once the design is ready it has to be printed on paper. The print designer can get the print design approved on the basis of presentation on the computer or get it after taking out the print. Once the company approves it the process moves ahead.
Quality of service: Print design is a combination of service and product. The print designer has to deliver this combination with the stipulated time committed. If the print designer says that he has designed the print without taking the printout then the work is incomplete.
Format: The format of the print design should be JPEG, TIF or GIF. The most compatible format is the JPEG format.
