Content Management
Internet has now become the greatest source of providing all types of information, whether it is literary or business, hobby related or academic. Simply type in any keyword in your most liked search engine and millions of websites will appear before you to answer your questions. You may be very well aware that these websites were made by website designers and content writers.
However you may not be much aware about the contributions of the content manager. The term “content management” may sound new to you, but they play a vital role in the web content development.
Similar to any other managerial work, content management also involves integrating a network of myriad actions, and is basically done in a chronological order. The content development and designing are two concurrent and important aspects of website creation. Content management involves the harmonization between these two parts of website development.
Content management involves the incorporation of two creative aspects, namely writing and designing:
- It is the writers who put pen to paper, the messages and thoughts of the website owner. The designers alternatively try to bring the content to life by balancing them with appropriate graphics and other forms of visual designs.
- Content manager examines both aspects of the production. From time to time the designers are given with required templates, and writers are given with guidelines on the articles by the team of content management.
- Finally, both productions combine into one to make the product i.e. the webpage.
- Now it is the time for the team of content management to provide final touches to the product and here the role of the editorial manager turns out to crucial. This is considered as the main stage in the content management, because it is the final stage before the product finally comes in the market.
- It is the efficiency of the content management system that can in reality make or break the success of the WebPages. It is the examining power of the content management that determines the fate of the webpage after it has been uploaded on the server. However, a detailed scrutinizing or editing does not alone affect the popularity of the website. It is the insight of the management in selecting the topic that finds out to some extent how popular the website is going to be in near future. Thus, research work is required to be high quality, and it is the duty of the content manager to make sure that the best materials are utilized to produce the output.
Therefore, the content management workflow consists of:
- Knowing the needs and trends of the market prior to deciding to launch any product.
- Carrying out refined research.
- Detailed examining of the contents.
- Coordination smoothly between designs and words.
